STREAMIX Licence Terms
These terms apply to STREAMIX Studio ("the Software"), published by Ruppen Multimedia GmbH, JRP Applications, Switzerland ("we", "us"). By installing or using the Software you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't install or use it.
1. Licence
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Software on computers you control, for private and commercial productions, within the limits of your edition:
- Free: free of charge, with the limits shown on our pricing page.
- Unlimited: a one-time purchase, activated on up to two computers at a time, with updates for the period stated at purchase.
- Online: a subscription that includes Unlimited and our hosted services while it is active.
Licences are tied to your STREAMIX account. You may move an activation to another computer from your account page.
2. What you may not do
- Sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the Software, or share licence files or account access with others.
- Remove or work around licence checks, edition limits or watermarks.
- Modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, except where the law allows it despite this restriction, or where an open-source licence of a component allows it (section 4).
- Remove or change copyright, trademark or other notices in the Software.
3. NDI® SDK
The Software includes the NDI® Software Development Kit ("NDI SDK") by NDI, Inc. (Vizrt NDI AB), used to send and receive NDI video and audio. NDI® is a registered trademark of Vizrt NDI AB. Learn more about NDI at ndi.video. For the NDI SDK and every part of it:
- You may not modify the NDI SDK, the NDI products or any part of them.
- You may not reverse engineer, disassemble or recompile the NDI SDK, the NDI products or any part of them, or any protocols they use, whether transmitted or received over a network or used inside or outside the machine (physical or virtual) they run on, and you may not attempt to do so.
- You may not circumvent any technical limitations of the NDI SDK or the NDI products.
- You may not remove, obscure or alter any proprietary notices or labels in or on the NDI SDK or the NDI products.
- NDI and its licensors provide the NDI SDK "as is", without any warranty, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. All such warranties on behalf of NDI and its licensors are disclaimed.
- To the extent permitted by applicable law, NDI and its licensors are not liable for any damages, whether direct, indirect, incidental or consequential, arising from the use of the Software.
- You must comply with all applicable export laws and regulations of the United States, and may not export the Software or any part of it, directly or indirectly, in violation of United States law.
- The NDI SDK is Copyright © NDI, Inc. All rights reserved.
- If you use the Software to develop products of your own that use NDI, those products must comply with the NDI SDK licence, including current and complete NDI compatibility, and their end-user licence must include the terms of this section.
The NDI library is shipped unchanged inside the Software. Its third-party notices are included with the Software (usr/share/licenses/ndi inside the AppImage).
4. Open-source components
The Software contains open-source components, each under its own licence, including GStreamer and FFmpeg (GNU LGPL 2.1 or later), the Chromium Embedded Framework (BSD) and libsrt (MPL 2.0). Those licences apply to those components and take precedence over these terms where they grant you more rights. Where an LGPL licence requires it, you may replace the component with your own modified version. Cisco's OpenH264 is not part of the Software: STREAMIX downloads it from Cisco on first use, under Cisco's licence (openh264.org).
5. Updates and online services
The Software checks for updates and installs them in the background; it never interrupts a stream or recording to do so. Some features need an internet connection and our hosted services (licence check-ins, remote guests, CDN, talkback, bonding). We may change or end hosted services; paid subscriptions are handled as described at purchase.
6. No warranty
The Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent permitted by law. Live productions depend on networks, hardware and third-party services outside our control; test your setup before going on air.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data or interrupted productions arising from the use of the Software. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Software in the twelve months before the claim. Liability for intent and gross negligence remains as provided by law.
8. Termination
This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms. When it ends, stop using the Software and delete it. Sections 3, 6, 7 and 9 continue to apply.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
